We are so glad you are perusing our website and considering a visit or wanting to learn more about our friendly congregation at First Methodist Church of Martinsville.
We believe you will find a warm, caring, welcoming and God-filled Presence among us.
We believe too that you will have many opportunities to make new connections through godly friendships that help us enjoy the journey more – multiplying our joy and sharing our sorrows — especially if you choose to participate in our small group offerings.
Some people may ask or want to know what type of attire is commonly worn here. You will find a wide variety of apparel – from dresses and sport jackets to business casual or informal jeans. We believe the Lord looks at the heart and is less concerned about external appearances.
You will also find many serving opportunities if you choose to participate. Some of the ways include our music ministry, small group projects, and ushering and greeting.
You will find our church culture embraces traditional values as well as primarily but not limited to a traditional worship music style that helps celebrate our faith’s rich heritage of a Wesleyan/Methodist, brand of Christianity.
We also offer an online worship experience at 9 a.m. on Sundays during our worship time – or the worship service can be viewed later. But you will find the friendship time onsite before, during and after the worship well worth your presence as well as a social time with coffee and refreshments directly following the service! And of course, the Presence of the Lord alone is well worth your onsite participation.
